Employing fencing pliers, attach one end of the tie to the upper or lower part of the chain-link. Proceed to loop it around the post, top rail, or framework, and spiral the remaining length of the tie around the opposite side of the mesh, culminating in a “C” formation. 
To estimate the number of fence ties required, it’s suggested to allocate one tie for every 12-18 inches. For example, for a chain-link fence spanning 150 feet, you’ll approximately need between 100-150 ties.
